Encouraging Myself

Dear Discouraged Self,

Girl, listen. You have to keep yourself together. You have to keep pushing toward your dreams and don’t give up. Yes, things are going to get hard. Everything is not always going to be easy. But you are a strong-minded young individual. You are very capable of fulfilling your dreams if you just stay focused. You’ve been through a lot in your 24 years of life. You started college at 16. You got off track and dropped out. You moved out of your parents house. You got pregnant. You had a miscarriage. You had a “best friend break-up”. You moved back in with your parents. You finally started to get your life back. You focused on your blog. You started a YouTube channel. You reconnected with your best friend. You went back to college to finish your Social Work degree. You made some new friends. You get down sometimes. But listen. YOU. GOT. THIS. You are going to graduate from college. You are going to be a phenomenal woman. You are going to be a great influence. Just keep pushing. Don’t let petty things get in your way. Don’t get involved in drama. Don’t hold grudges against people. Practice forgiveness. You’re smart. You’re strong. Don’t ever forget that. You can do anything that you set your mind to do and you know that. You’ve always been the type to do exactly what you say you’re going to do, no matter how big or small the task is. You always manage to get it done. Look at you. You decided to go back to college at the age of 24! Be proud of yourself! That’s a big step that some people won’t even think about taking at your age. Some people would just rather work and make a living another way. But you… Girl look at you! LOOK. AT. YOU. BOO. BOO. You’re out here making a name for yourself. Keep pushing forward. Keep going after your goals. I promise you, everything you’re doing will pay off. Keep working and you’ll reap the results of the seeds you’re sowing right now.

Your Encouraged Self

Rebel Gang! I decided to write this letter to myself just as a reminder to myself that I am somebody! Over the past few weeks I have been very discouraged and depressed. I had to take some time to myself to get over MYSELF! Yes! I had to get over myself! I had to get out of my own way and get back being the great person that I know I am! I’m telling you guys. Just reflecting on my life and writing this has helped me so much!

I challenge you, if you’re feeling depressed, discouraged, down and out, write an encouraging letter to yourself! If you don’t want to write a full letter, just write yourself a little encouraging note every day and put it in a place where you can see it and read it to yourself. You don’t have to count on other people to pull you out of a slump. Encourage yourself! Pick yourself up! YOU. GOT. THIS.

Be Easy.

Eccentric Rebel
